UK Care Jobs After the 2025 Rules Change — What's Still Real

Read this before you pay anyone anything. The UK care visa story changed in July 2025, and the people still selling "care jobs in UK" on WhatsApp have not told you.

What actually changed

From 22 July 2025, the UK closed new overseas recruitment for most care worker visas. People already working in UK care, and those in transitional arrangements, keep their path until 2028 — but a fresh applicant sitting in Nairobi, Accra or Dhaka can no longer start the care route the way people did in 2023. That is the honest status, straight from the rules.

What is still real in the UK

• Workers already in UK care roles can extend or change employers until the 2028 transition ends — check the GOV.UK page below for the live conditions.
• Other sponsored roles that need higher qualifications (health professionals, engineers) continue through the Skilled Worker route, but the salary and skill bars are high — read the official occupation lists, not an agent's promise.

How to check any UK employer in 5 minutes

Any legitimate UK sponsorship starts with the employer being on the official Register of Licensed Sponsors, published free on GOV.UK. Search the company name yourself. Not on the list? The job does not exist. This check has saved more money than any article on this site.

The scam spike you must expect

When a route closes, scammers sell "last chance" slots. Expect messages like "care visa still open, I know someone inside" — nobody is inside. Anyone charging you for a closed route is stealing, full stop.
