Truck Driver Jobs in Canada — 2,000+ Job Bank Postings, LMIA Route Explained

Truck driving is the best-paid no-degree job on this corridor. Job Bank lists over 2,100 transport truck driver postings nationwide (NOC 73300), and current ads run from CAD 28 to CAD 39 an hour — long-haul roles at the top of that range. Transport companies recruit abroad constantly because the driver shortage in Canada has lasted years.

How to search like a professional

The link below opens Job Bank's live truck driver market report by province. Ontario posts the largest volume — current ads there include long-haul positions at CAD 36-38 an hour. Read each posting for three things: salary, whether the employer mentions foreign workers or LMIA, and which license class they require.

Licenses decide everything

Canadian fleets hire drivers who can convert or obtain the right class (in Ontario, AZ). Some employers accept an international license plus experience and train you; many require a Canadian class before you start solo driving. Ask the employer directly — never pay a middleman who "arranges" a Canadian license. License schools are paid by you directly, at rates you can verify.

What you need

• 2+ years of professional driving experience with references
• Clean driving record — this is checked, so be honest
• Valid passport, police clearance, medical readiness
• English good enough for logs, dispatch and road signs

Red flags

"Pay me $3,000 and I get you a Canadian truck job" is the same scam wearing a hi-vis vest. Real fleets interview, check references, and process the LMIA themselves. Nobody legitimate holds your passport or charges for a job offer.

Honest warning

Long-haul means weeks away from home in all weather. If that trade-off is acceptable to you and your family, this is one of the few corridors where the pay genuinely changes lives.
